Contents
1. Your data stays on your device
Everything you record in Glpfy — your profile, weight, doses, meals, hydration, side effects and journal entries — is stored locally on the device in the app's own private storage. There is no account to create, there is no sign-in, and we do not upload your health data to any server.
This is a property of how the app is built rather than a promise about how we behave. The app has no backend to send your health data to, so there is no copy of it for us to read, lose, hand over or sell.
2. What we collect
Only what you type into the app, plus the settings you choose. That includes:
- Profile details you enter during onboarding — such as height, weight, age, sex, activity level and your goal — used to calculate your calorie, protein, fibre and hydration targets on the device.
- Treatment details — the medication and dose you tell the app you have been prescribed, and your injection schedule.
- Logs — doses taken, weight entries, meals and saved foods, water, side effects and their severity, and journal entries.
- App settings — units, theme, reminder preferences and your analytics choice.
All of it is written to the device and stays there.
3. Anonymous usage data and crash reports
On Android, if you leave “Share anonymous usage data” switched on in Settings, we collect information about how the app is used — which screens you open, which features you use, whether an action succeeded or failed, and technical crash reports. This is processed by Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics) and is tied to a random installation identifier, not to you.
It never includes your health information. Not your weight, your medication or its name, your doses, your meals, your side effects, your journal entries, or any date attached to them. We record that you logged a dose, never which dose.
You can switch this off at any time in Settings, and switching it off stops collection rather than merely hiding it. We use what remains for one purpose: fixing crashes and understanding which parts of the app are worth improving.
4. What we share
Nothing about your health. We do not sell or rent your data, we do not share your health data with third parties, and we do not use any of it for advertising. There are no advertising SDKs and no trackers in the app.
The anonymous usage data described above is processed by Google on our behalf as a service provider, under Google's terms for Firebase. That is the only third party that receives anything, and what it receives contains no health information.
5. Health Connect and Apple Health
On Android, Glpfy can optionally connect to Health Connect to show activity and body data you already track elsewhere alongside your logs, instead of asking you to enter it twice. This is entirely your choice — the app works fully without it, and nothing is read until you turn the connection on and grant it in Health Connect's own permission screen.
When you grant access, the app may read: steps, exercise duration, active calories burned, total calories burned, distance, floors climbed, weight, body fat percentage and sleep duration. You can grant some and decline others — declined types simply don't appear.
This access is read-only. The app requests no permission to write to Health Connect and never writes anything back to it. The data is read on demand to display figures such as your daily step count or weight trend, alongside the data you log yourself — it is never uploaded, because the app has no server to send it to. It is excluded from the optional analytics described above, so it never leaves your device in any form.
You can review or revoke this access at any time in Health Connect's own settings, or from the app's Health Connect screen.
Glpfy does not integrate with Apple Health on iOS in this version. The app also requests no location permission and reads no routes — only aggregate distance totals, where granted.
6. Subscriptions and payments
The optional Premium subscription is sold and billed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see or handle your payment details. The app asks the store whether your subscription is active and stores the answer on the device; that is the whole of it. Your purchase history is governed by the store's own privacy policy, not by ours.
7. Exporting and deleting
You can export a copy of your data at any time from Settings. The export is a file on your device that you control — you decide whether it goes anywhere.
Erasing your data from Settings removes it from the device permanently. Uninstalling the app also removes it. Because there is no server copy, a deletion cannot be undone and we cannot recover it for you. Full instructions are on the Data & deletion page.
8. Data retention — how long data is kept
Your health and personal data: we do not store or retain it. Your profile, weight, doses, meals, hydration, side effects and journal entries are never transmitted to us and are never held on any server we operate. We have no copy of them, for any length of time, so there is no retention period on our side and nothing for us to delete on your behalf.
That data is retained on your device only, for as long as you choose to keep it. It is erased immediately and permanently when you use Settings → Erase all data, when you delete individual entries, or when you uninstall the app. There is no grace period, no soft delete and no archived copy.
The only data that is retained anywhere off your device is the optional, anonymous usage and crash data described in section 3, which contains no health information and no identifier tied to you:
- Anonymous usage (analytics) events — retained by Google Firebase Analytics for a maximum of 14 months from collection, after which Google deletes them automatically. Aggregated, non-identifying totals may persist beyond that.
- Crash reports — retained by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days, then deleted automatically.
- Support emails you send us — retained for up to 24 months so we can follow up on the issue, then deleted. You can ask us to delete yours sooner at the address in section 13.
If you switch off “Share anonymous usage data” in Settings, collection stops at that moment and nothing further is retained. Data already collected is deleted on the schedule above.
9. Backups
Your device's own backup system — such as Android Backup or iCloud — may include the app's data. That backup is created and controlled by your device settings and your device account, not by us, and is subject to the privacy policy of Google or Apple respectively. You can exclude it in your device's backup settings.
10. Children
Glpfy is intended for adults managing their own prescribed treatment. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Because there is no account system, we hold no personal information to remove — but if you believe a child has been using the app, erasing its data from Settings removes everything from the device.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict or delete the personal information a company holds about you — for example under the GDPR or the CCPA.
In practice, the app is structured so that you exercise those rights directly and immediately: your data lives on your device, you can read all of it in the app, correct it, export it to a file, and erase it permanently, all without asking us. We cannot access it, so we cannot produce, correct or delete it on your behalf. If you have optional analytics switched on and want that stopped, switch it off in Settings.
If you have a question about this that the app cannot answer, contact us at the address below.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be surfaced in the app. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
13. Contact
Questions about this policy can be sent to nelucode+glpfy@gmail.com, which is the same address listed under Help & Support in the app.
